Keyword eco-driving; speed limits

Environmentally and healthy driving behaviour becomes more and more important on today’s agenda. Eco-driving comprises a set of driving tips which, if followed, result in a style of driving that saves money, is more ecological as it decreases pollution and leads to less road traffic accidents.

Eco-driving tips include proper maintenance of a vehicle to improve fuel efficiency, a reasonable, non-aggressive style of driving to minimise waste of fuel, a constant speed, travelling light to reduce the load on the engine, and planning trips in advance. Local and national authorities should encourage and promote eco-driving by organizing marketing campaigns and by conducting training courses for drivers and by including eco-driving into driving courses for new drivers.
